About Me

Hi, I’m Cath — an educator, designer, and mum with a lifelong love of creativity.
I created We Can Art to give children and families opportunities to slow down, explore materials, and build confidence through making. My focus is on the process of creating — encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and pride in what children produce, rather than perfection.
My background spans primary education, graphic design, and business administration. I trained as a Primary School Teacher in Scotland and have worked across education and creative industries in the UK and New Zealand. Alongside my professional roles, I volunteered with children’s clubs supporting quiet, often overlooked children to find their confidence — an experience that strongly shaped how I work with children today. Art has always been central to my life. As a child, it was where I felt most focused and at ease. As a teacher, I sought ways to give children greater freedom to express themselves. Later, returning to art during a challenging time reminded me of its power to calm, centre, and support wellbeing — something I now see reflected in the children I work with.
Through We Can Art classes and workshops, I create welcoming, supportive spaces where children can explore materials, develop skills, and feel proud of their creativity. My aim is to help every child feel confident saying, “I made this.”
